Editorial Policy
Our goal is pet-care information that is accurate, practical and honest about its limits. This page explains how we work.
Original content standards
We write original explanations. We do not copy or lightly rephrase other publications. Short factual references are attributed, and each article lists sources that a reader can open and check.
Research and source selection
When we describe a care practice or a US public-health topic, we prefer primary or widely used educational sources: pet-owner materials from the American Veterinary Medical Association, label guidance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, healthy-pets information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and poison-control education from the ASPCA. Linking to those pages does not create an affiliation or an endorsement.
How veterinary topics are handled
Paw Routine Lab is not a veterinary practice. We do not diagnose animals, prescribe medication, recommend dosages, or tell readers to skip veterinary care. When a topic touches health, we describe general background and point readers to a qualified veterinarian, or to an animal poison-control resource in a possible emergency. Articles are not reviewed by a named veterinarian unless that review has actually taken place and can be documented. We do not claim veterinary review today.
Editorial accuracy
We do not invent statistics, surveys, quotations, client stories or expert endorsements. Illustrative household examples are written as examples. We do not claim an outside expert panel fact-checks every page, because that is not how the site currently operates.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email [email protected] with the page address and the issue. We review correction requests. Significant corrections are made promptly and the article’s review date is updated.
Updates and revision dates
Every article shows a “Last updated” date. It reflects the most recent substantive editorial review. We do not change the date for cosmetic edits, and dates are not refreshed automatically.
Education and promotion
The site currently carries no advertising, affiliate links or sponsored articles. If commercial relationships are added later, they will be disclosed on the pages where they appear, and this policy will be updated.
